Queens’ Galbi Marinade
(San Francisco, California)
A Creator Of Friendly Korean American Ingredients
Queens opened in 2018 in San Francisco's Sunset neighborhood, starting life as a specialty Korean deli & grocery with housemade provisions and prepared foods, an expertly curated pantry of small batch and hard-to-come-by Korean ingredients and a produce fridge filled with fresh foods and Asian heirloom produce sourced from local Bay Area farms. It has grown over the years since, adding a restaurant and cafe with a celebrated food menu and an evolving product line of our own.
We use recyclable glass jars and plastics, biodegradable packing peanuts that decompose in water, compostable & recyclable packing tape with non-toxic water-activated adhesive, and recyclable packing paper.
Recipe: Galbi (Korean Short Ribs)
Using Queens’ Galbi Marinade:
Galbi means “ribs” in Korean, and is a popular Korean dish served in many places. Made only using the ripest Asian pears and Fuji apples grown in Northern California. The Queens Galbi is a delightfully sweet and savory, balanced marinade that pairs perfectly with beef or Korean-style BBQ.
Recommendations from Queens:
“ We recommend 1lb of short ribs (flanken Korean cut preferably). Ideally, marinate in the fridge for 48 hours.”
While we don’t have a specific recipe for Galbi from Queens, we recommend checking out this recipe from CJ Eats for a solid marinade direction. Try serving with a Korean cucumber salad, kimchi, and don’t forget to add some sesame.
Enjoy!
